Comment from Nicole
I have recently been able to compete in a gala at Hull. This competition was over 2 days and I was able to compete in 8 races and was able to achieve 7 new personal best times. At this gala I was very lucky to have my team mates and friends at the end of my lane, so a big thank you to them. A special mention to both Carl and John for helping and pushing me in training so I could be the best I can be. I have to admit that sometimes I have struggled, especially training for Hull, but my coaches and friends have helped me stay on track and continue to push myself. Also a big thank you to everyone that has made my training and competing so much fun for me. I hope that everyone pushes themselves to the limit so they can be the best they can be and I hope everyone achieves their goals.

The July Swimmer of the month is Nicole Barker. Nicole is 12 years old and is currently in our B Squad. She has been with the club since a young age progressing through the learner program and the earlier squad structure.
This award was based on her performance at the Kingston Upon Hull End of Season Meet. At this competition Nicole swam in 8 races over the 2 days across the different strokes and distances. This included 3 200 metre races in Free, Back, IM. Nicole clearly pushed herself in her selection of the events. Throughout the weekend she demonstrated a really positive attitude and application. As a result of this she performed really well, demonstrating excellent technique and as a result achieved 7 out of 8 PB’s.
So, a really big Well Done Nicole!!! You deserve this award and recognition, keep this form and attitude going into the new swim season!
